My fairly strait laced Jdub girlfriend told me on Sunday at a get together, sisters were gathered together making fun of the zone visit. About 20 sisters ages 21-40. She said on Instagram, #jwhumor, are hilarious things poking fun. Then someone wrote that making fun of the GB is insulting the GB and Jehovah, gives apostates ammunition, and they're was a reason we weren't to record etc.
She thinks, with others in this age group, it's bogus but of course 'the truth'
this is the scuttlebutt in one of the "bethel congregations" by us.. no details as to exactly what this "faith-testing" announcement might be.. anyone else hear any of this pre-zone visit hype?.

I asked an older JW sister who is very in, but anti DFing and shunning, what she would think if they introduced tithing... She said "We would have become a part of Christendom" she then called her husband 75 year old to see his thoughts and he said it won't happen, ' that's what false religion does, not us'
maybe that's what will rock older people's boats...tithing...because it's 'what the world does'

In southern Cali they are already having 5 congs in a hall and Saturday WT studies At 10 am &2 pm...and 'raising' money to build new halls... Yeah right

i poked around a bit on here and didn't find any comments about this.
We had this yesterday. Basically, inactive ones have been dedicated and we need to show personal interest. They may have been stumbled by persons, or they are not understanding new bible teachings, or they are stressed with the pressures of life. "They may be quietly calling out to God, cast down, feeling disgraced. Organizationally and spiritually we are moving at light speed with new light, they may not understand".
Oh, the big one, they may be hiding a sin and it's wearing on them Mentally. They said how we need to love them more, reach out to them. Then the age old assumption that inactive ones have no relationship with Jehovah, because one must be close to the Borg to be close to God. The brother said, " remind them walking in spirit will help them resist temptation".

we have had 3 local needs this year on staying the entire meeting, but people still leave, happily.
Tech49... You're spot on with people's feelings of meeting boredom.
Our hall has 97 publishers-- 88 on sunday and 64 on Tuesday with 5-12 leaving at the half.

i have not attended anything jw related for over a year.... until last week when i went to our one day convention.. why you ask?.
i can do what i want i'm a grown adult.. ok...ok...so my jw childhood friend who i have not seen forever, came by for a visit.. i mentally went through the check list:.

My goodness this is me. I started waking up a few months ago and ours is Saturday. I considered an excuse to not go and realized hubby was going despite. I figure it's better I'm there to hear and have good critical thinking questions for after. Ya know... So I can ' be on the watch' ha. Also... I'm going to play some games in my head, like a last days counter, Jesus mention, school is bad mention.... I can have some fun, that's what I'm trying to convince myself of. I really am curious to let you know the $cost we are assigned.

other than unprovable actions in heaven, what can jws say is the significance of it all...with a straight face?.
When JWs tell me how amazing it is, Bethel, the website, JW TV, I tell them it's nothing greater than what the Mormons have done. I then refer them to their website, farming abilities, and how they have food sheds to help with the needy within their faith. I say this at meeting, or gatherings which I host a lot of. That gets JWs real worked up.
Does anyone know their numbers and growth since their inception? I'm having a big gathering and would love to Know such numbers, just seeing JWs faces when you present this info..priceless.
We have family dinners often, the older relatives talk the truth, but always shut up when any of us come in the room and we are in our 30-40's.
to our surprise, last night at a family dinner 8 of my aunts/uncles, who were born in and we consider spiritually mature said 1914 is wrong, the end isn't coming anytime soon, and like any group of humans this group of Gods people has turned corrupt. What a shocker! They range in age from 55-76. Then this thread of what we are about to hear...their going to die at meeting, can't wait for family dinner after that.
